1、 Product Overview

 

Amphoteric polyacrylamide is formed by copolymerization of cationic monomers, acrylamide monomers, and hydrolytic dispersants. Through infrared spectroscopy analysis, it was found that the product chain not only has carboxyl negative charges after hydrolysis of acrylamide, but also vinyl positive charges. Therefore, the product constitutes an irregular polymer of zwitterionic ions with both positive and negative charges on the molecular chain. Made by granulation, drying, and crushing, the product appears as a white, small particle or powdered solid in appearance.

3、 Main uses

 

1. The latest water treatment agent

 

In many situations, when treating sewage and water, the combination of anionic polyacrylamide and cationic polyacrylamide produces a non significant synergistic effect compared to using only one type of ionic polyacrylamide. Amphoteric polyacrylamide has a much greater ability to reduce surface tension than the ability of cations and anions to exist alone under the same conditions. In order to achieve the requirement of reducing surface tension, Both anionic and cationic polyacrylamide need to be used simultaneously, but improper use of both can result in white precipitates and loss of effectiveness. And zwitterionic polyacrylamide has the characteristics of zwitterionic ions, which can change frequently. Using zwitterionic polyacrylamide as a water treatment flocculant is more convenient and effective. It will also become the preferred product for most sewage treatment plants.

 

2. Sludge dewatering agent

 

Due to the increasingly complex nature of urban sewage discharge, the requirements for sludge dewatering agents in sewage treatment are becoming higher and higher. Single cationic polyacrylamide is no longer suitable for dewatering some sludge. Therefore, our company has developed a sludge dewatering agent with zwitterionic polyacrylamide for this situation. After dewatering experiments and use on various sludge, it has been found that it is superior to polyacrylamide with single ionic characteristics. Especially for sludge dewatering in refineries and chemical plants, the use of zwitterionic polyacrylamide has a more prominent effect.

 

3. Paper Additives

 

In the papermaking industry, zwitterionic polyacrylamide, as a chemical, cannot be compared to a single characteristic of polyacrylamide. Especially in terms of retention and filtration, it can improve the offline filtration speed, reduce fiber filler loss, and have a good effect on the wet end system. It also promotes and compensates for the smoothness, strength, and double-sided difference of the finished paper.

 

4. Profile control and water plugging agent

 

Oilfield experiments have shown that the performance of this new type of zwitterionic polyacrylamide profile control and water plugging agent is much higher than that of other single ion characteristic profile control and water plugging agents.
